All over the world, people are searching to find their calling, or purpose. In our homeschools, it’s no different. On last night’s prayer call, we went global as I’m joined by Katie & Tap Hornor, missionaries to Mexico, authors, and founders of Paradise Praises and the Lemonhass Spanish homeschool curriculum. Listen in tonight as we CRY to the Lord to help us discover and clarify our purposes, and that we have eyes to see the amazing gifts in each of our children. You WILL be moved!
According to the word, above all- that is our purpose. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
In the original Greek text, that word- handiwork- was the word poema. Yes, we are God’s poem- to use our words and words to bring Him glory.
In the book, the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, the acronym SHAPE is shared to help us discover HOW God has uniquely gifted us, and as a guide in how to use our gifts to glorify Him. If we step back, ponder, and begin to put together the “puzzle” of our unique lives, even back through childhood, and we ask for the Lord’s wisdom in this search, surely, He will reveal our greatest fulfillment and purpose.
