The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on Word Traveling website. On some pages, you can order products, get free products, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:
Please NOTE that your credit card information is only entered when you go to PayPal at paypal.com. That information is not entered on our website and we cannot access that information in any way.
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order or to check on a problem you might have while placing the order. We do not share this information with outside parties. This information is only accessible by Word Traveling team members, which includes the owner of the site and the site webmaster or tech support from our web host, GoDaddy.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties, rented as a list, or given to anyone else.
We use your registered email address to “occasionally” send you a newsletter, notify you of important news and product updates that take place with Word Traveling. We ONLY email you if you have subscribed to our email list giving you the option to opt out.
The only reason you would register/create an account with our website is if you are ordering or planning on ordering. This will allow you to save the contents of your shopping cart should you choose to return at a later date to complete your order. Information you submit on our website will not be used for purposes other than to ship your order and to update you 2 – 4 times per year if there is a major change within the website.
We may use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Google, Facebook, and other website notes
We use Google analytics but do not collect any verifiable information.
Here is a list of the information I see when I go into my Google analytics account:
Facebook and Google use technologies such as algorithms, cookies and pixels to keep track of your activities on our website. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your device for record-keeping purposes. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for an extended period of time. Facebook, Google and their third party partners use session cookies and persistent cookies to monitor and evaluate our website’s operation and use.
We are committed to ensuring that our website contains content that is valuable to our readers. Because of this, we have implemented the Google analytics demographics and interest reporting features on our website. This allows us to review anonymous data about gender, age and interests of website visitors and adapt our content to better reflect their needs. Although this information is collected through your Google ad settings, it is not provided to us in a personally-identifiable format. This means we have no idea who you are, and we will not try to figure it out. 🙂
We use this information to see where you spend your time but do not collect information that personally or directly identifies you via these cookies. You can remove cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. You may also decline our cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may interfere with your use of our website and many others.
You may also go here to opt out of internet based advertising: Consumer Opt-out
This is only for advertisements from Google AdWords and other third party advertisement scripts added to our website.
- The Google Analytics Advertising Features we’ve detailed above.
- How you and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other first-party identifiers, and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) or other third-party identifiers together. Detailed above.
- How visitors can opt-out of the Google Analytics Advertising Features you use, including through Ads Settings, Ad Settings for mobile apps, or any other available means (for example, the NAI’s consumer opt-out).
You may go here for Google Analytics’ currently available opt-outs for the web.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by logging into your account with the username and password you have chosen upon registration. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.
If you have forgotten your access login or cannot gain access to your account, to protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections. Because we encrypt your password, we do not have a way to check what password you used, so you’ll have to click on the “forgot your password?” link.
